Sylvie James graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Laws in 2023.

Before joining the Armstrong Murray team, Sylvie worked in HR and Health & Safety within compliance-based industries such as construction, shipping and government.

Working in these highly regulated sectors, Sylvie found that she enjoyed understanding and applying legislative frameworks – the catalyst for her decision to pursue law.

Sylvie is eager to immerse herself in various areas of legal practice, wishing to gain a good understanding of the main areas and how they intersect. To date, she has been working primarily in the commercial team and is enjoying the variety of work in this area.

Through her previous roles, Sylvie honed her organisational, efficiency and accuracy skills, providing her with a solid foundation for her transition into law. She prides herself on being able to holistically look at issues and understand the big picture. 

Sylvie feels grateful to work at a firm where everyone is welcomed and each team member is celebrated for the unique qualities they bring to the table.
