Hayley O’Brien
Solicitor
Hayley graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce. She then spent more than a decade practising exclusively in family law in Australia, working at specialist firms in both Perth and Melbourne.
During this time, Hayley advised clients on all aspects of relationship breakdown. She has particular expertise in complex financial matters, including trusts, business structures and cross‑border issues.
Now based on the North Shore, Hayley is a valued member of the firm’s litigation team. She works closely with John Armstrong and has extensive experience across litigation, mediation and negotiated outcomes. She is known for her thorough preparation, strategic thinking and clear, practical guidance.
Hayley takes the time to explain not only what is happening, but why it matters. This helps clients feel informed, confident and supported when making decisions.
